Proposed Fiscal Year 2024 Assessments

On August 30, 2023, the Department of Revenue (DOR) informed the Hardwick Board of Assessors they have granted preliminary certification of our proposed fiscal year 2024 assessments.

The Board of Assessors contracted with Mayflower Valuation, Inc., to develop the new Assessments which are based on calendar year 2022 sales analysis and field reviews.

The certification process must be completed every five years to keep the Town in compliance with a state requirement that all property be valued at full and fair market value. 

The total taxable value of all real and personal property for fiscal year 2023 was 341,918,257.  The preliminary total taxable value for fiscal year 2024 is 368,846,367 inclusive of new construction.

The new proposed values will be available for public review beginning Tuesday September 5, 2023, at 8:30 am through September 13, 2023, at 4:30 pm on the Town website or in the Assessors’ office.

The intent of this disclosure period is to correct any inadvertent errors or omissions in the proposed valuations.

Valuation books at the libraries will be available during regular library hours. 

Gilbertville Public Library:  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 2 pm-6pm & Friday 4pm-7pm.

Paige Memorial Library:  Tuesday & Thursday 2 pm–7pm, Wednesday 10 am–4pm &

Saturday 9 am-1pm.
