All LTC/FID applications can be done by mailing it to the station or dropping if off. Anyone renewing a license should plan on renewing it 3-6 months prior to the expiration of the license.
You can also now set up a login through the MA firearms portal to submit the application, change your address or obtain your PIN. Please go to https://mircsportal.chs.state.ma.us/mircs-portal/login.xhtml
Once you have submitted online, please mail or drop off your fee to the station. Your license will not be processed until we receive the fee (unless you are free). We will contact you with any questions or other steps.
You can also, print out, fill in the form, sign it and mail it to the Police Department. Massachusetts Resident LTC/FID/Machine Gun Application.
We will process the application or renewal upon receipt in the mail and call you with any questions or issues. We will mail you your receipts. Mail the completed form along with $100 check made payable to the town you live in. If you are over 70 years old, it is free unless it’s a new license. Under 18 years of age is $25 and current/retired LEO is $25.
